James D. McVittie, Attorney at Law

James D. McVittie, Attorney at law, Principal, McVittie-Law PC. Jim’s desire to
help others led him to start his own law firm, McVittie-Law PC in 2000 to focus on
estate planning issues. Previously, Jim spent many years practicing workers’
compensation litigation. A native of Washington state, Jim received his undergraduate
degree in Political Science from Washington State University in 1984. In 1984 Jim moved
to Portland to attend law school at Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College,
receiving his Juris Doctor in 1987.

Christopher M. Brooks, Attorney at Law

Chris is an associate focusing on estate planning, elder law and corporate law. He joined McVittie-Law in April of 2007, after four years practicing civil litigation as an associate at Michael Wise & Associates P.C. Chris received his undergraduate education in Gonzaga University's Honors Program, where he received a Cardinal Newman Fellowship. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English in 1999.

Chris then attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he received the CALI Award for Excellence for his performance in Trial Advocacy and received his J.D., with an emphasis in civil litigation, in 2002.

Chris is a former board member of the Portland Area Theatre Alliance and the Portland Actors Ensemble, which mounts Portland's Shakespeare-in-the-Parks. He is also a member of the Multnomah Athletic Club and the Portland Art Museum. His other interests include wine, golf, and literature.
